Piaget Malachite Dial 18k Yellow Gold Dress Watch

£3,950.00

Model - Protocole 9823
Year - 1960s
Movement - 9P Mechanical
Case Dimensions - 23mm x 28mm
Contents - Original Buckle
Material - 18k Yellow Gold

In the early 1960s, Piaget introduced many different dials, from turquoise, tigers eye and lapis.
These dials were very fashion focussed and really brought the jewellery and horology world together - I really feel that Piaget pioneered this trend.

This is the first example of a malachite dial I have come across. The pattern throws itself across the dial with a great depth of green hues. The dial sits within a plaited 18k Yellow Gold oval case, a shape very popular in the 60s. The sword hands top off the classic Piaget look and the watch is accompanied with its original 18k P Logo buckle.

It is important to note that there are two cracks in the dial. One is more prominant running between 5-8 and the other is a hairline running from 3-10.
