The Le Coultre Mystery made its debut during a time when the American market for precious-metal watches was rapidly expanding. With diamonds already growing in popularity and alongside the glamour of Hollywood, Le Coultre sought to create a statement piece that would truly stand out.
The result was the remarkable “Mystery” watch. Instead of traditional hands, it features two transparent rotating discs, each set with a single diamond: one indicating the hours and the other the minutes. These discs glide above one another, creating the illusion that the diamonds themselves are floating as they mark the time. Designed specifically for the American market, the watch was crafted in elegant 14k white gold.
The watch remains in very good condition for its age. Of particular note is the sentimental Christmas engraving on the case back, a heartfelt personal touch that adds a unique warmth and story to the timepiece. It comes with a genuine cock’s foot blue strap.
